For those who were at our last Church Together you will know Phil is stepping off the Senior Leadership team as an elder. He has been an incredible gift to our church, bringing his enthusiasm, faith, pastoral and worshipping heart to our community. He will continue to do so but now in different ways while continuing to be a GP.
To hear Phil share his journey and news you can catch up here. It was very meaningful to pray for Phil at Church Together and do continue to pray for them as Claire continues to give significant input as Chair of Trustees and the Steering Group.
Our recent Church Together included some exciting news about our staffing. We are newly employing Dan Roach and continuing to employ Mike & Susy Holding.
We are delighted that Dan will be joining the staff team from April 1st . He will continue to work for his present employer two days a week and give three days a week to Grace Church. This will be for two years. Dan has for a long time held a sense of calling into full-time ministry which has only grown in recent years. For the last four years he has been part of the Senior Leadership Team and since last May has given extraordinary amounts of time to the church, initially through Stu’s sabbatical and then continuing through the autumn until now. Personally his support to Mick has enabled him to manage the extra demands of this season. Dan’s role is SLT level of responsibility with the view to eldership appointment in the summer.

Our first step in re-gathering was to do very simple services for the joy of being together. We did that both in the morning and evening to cater for those at different stages of life. For me I found it so moving being all together in a room again, singing to Jesus.
Now that we have found our home in Isca for the time being, with classrooms aplenty as well as people with some energy to serve on childrens groups we have relaunched our Sunday Service. This is where our resources are now going: Sunday morning 10:30 at Isca Academy. The gathering involves some time all together singing, a little children’s teaching slot, some family news and then Bible teaching for adults. As we concentrate on evolving this service it necessitates us ceasing to meet in the evening.
